Swami said to Hislop: "Every time I look at a person, I see the entire panorama, from the very inception of that jiva." The jiva has existed many millions of years, progressing through each form: granite, vegetable, animal, human. Swami sees that person up to the very point where he realises the truth and illusion falls away from his eyes.
