Sri Gopal Rao, ex-chairman of Andhra Bank, first met Bhagawan Baba in Mumbai on 24th July 1965. That encounter totally changed his life. In 1962 he had surgery and radiation for malignancy in his urinary bladder.
Four years later, in 1966, when there was a recurrence, his doctor sent him to London for further treatment. The urologist there, after examination and tests, wanted to remove his bladder. Gopal Rao was reluctant and wrote a letter to Bhagawan Baba for help.
During the surgery that followed, the doctor, to his utter surprise, found no trace of cancer. As agreed earlier, the bladder was not removed as no cancer cells were found. Later, during an interview, Bhagawan Baba told Gopal Rao's wife not to worry and He would look after his health.
