Sai Wit & Wisdom - Wonky Namam

On one occasion, Baba found that the namam (the Vaishnavite mark) on the forehead of Narasimham was not straight and it was curved.

Baba remarked playfully, "What, Simham, your namam is wonky (curved)!"  Narasimham confessed that the silver stick he usually uses for this purpose was missing and he used a matchstick for the purpose.

Swami waved His hand and produced a 2 1/2 inch long silver stick which had the Vaishnavite insignia of sangka and chakra at one end and handed over to Narasimham saying,  "You should always use a straight path, it is not good to walk in a crooked path!"

Narasimham treasured it carefully during his life time and passed it on to his son, Sri V.N.Prahlad.
