When Swami visited Sri Nagar, some elders prayed to Bhagawan to visit the famed Shalimar Baugh in the city. He refused their request saying, "It is a well maintained garden with natural springs and lakes. If I go there, there will be a mad rush of people; it will ruin the garden." On continuous persuasion, Swami reluctantly agreed to go there next morning.
As soon as Swami entered the garden, the watchman fell at His feet with a rose, plucked from the garden to be offered to Baba. Meanwhile, hundreds of people jumped over the closed gates and compound and rushed inside, plucking roses in the garden and smashing the plants in the garden. Those with flowers in their hands rushed towards Baba who looked at the boys and said, "Did I not tell you yesterday? You did not listen ... see now, if the garden is spoilt, people will say that Sai Baba is responsible for it."
Telling them to go round the entire garden, He immediately returned to Prasad Villa, where His stay was arranged. They realised their ignorance of Bhagawan's magnetic power of attraction.
