Prof. Kasturi recalls joyfully, "The twin songsters learnt many lessons in music from Baba; this was the reason why Baba noticed that their Tamil tongues twisted out of shape the Telugu phrases of Thyagarajas' compositions, often producing ridiculous perversions. To give an example of many such, they were innocently caricaturing a sublime expression of humility in one of Thyagaraja's songs, into an irrelevant and insolent challenge! They pronounced "pogadakunte" as "pakodatinte" and slaughtered the song, for the sense was thereby defiled disastrously. Instead of 'Oh! Lord'."
