Sai Wit and Wisdom - Do Your Duty

Once Bhagawan visited Jamnagar (Amar Vilas Palace) at mid-noon on 31st March 1973.  Being a meticulous organizer, Rajmata had instructed her loyal Arab security guard, Sheik at the Portico not to
permit anyone with footwear into the Portico in order to maintain the sanctity of the place for the visit of her Lord.

When Baba arrived, Sheik overtook all the reception committee members and told Bhagawan to remove the footwear.  Baba smiled and removed the footwear and proceeded to receive the guard of honour from a contingent of home guards who were waiting in the hot sun.  Rajmata rushed to her Lord, apologized profusely and pleaded with Him to put on the sandals, which she carried in her hands, in vain.

When Baba returned to the Portico, He saw Rajmata angrily reprimanding Sheik for his unpardonable sin.  The guard's eyes imploring for pardon met Baba's eyes.  Baba pacified her and told, "It is not his mistake at all, you had not instructed him making an exception for me.  I appreciate his loyalty and dutifulness."  Tears of gratitude were seen in the eyes of Sheik.  Further, Swami gently patted him on his back in appreciation and materialized a talisman for him.  It was a piece of greenish stone, 1" x 1" by size with an Arabic engraving from Quran.  Sheik looked at Rajamata with gratitude since without her rebuke, he would not have got blessed by Baba there.
