The Mantra

 

"Gamaya"is to lead. We have gurus who initiate you into spiritual life. There are some gurus who give you a mantra, which they say is very confidential, though there is nothing confidential about it. 

There was a great saint in our country, Ramanuja, to whom his guru gave a confidential mantra, and said, “Don’t make it public. If you make it public you will go to hell.” 

Ramanuja asked him of what use is this mantra, and the guru said, “It will save you from the cycle of birth and death. It will give you peace and happiness.” 

Ramanuja thought, “It does not matter if I go to hell, but let everyone become free from the cycle of birth and death and let everyone get peace and happiness,” and he climbed up a tower in the town and shouted the mantra. 

He became a great saint and founded a new philosophy called ‘Vishishtaadwaita.’ Why keep a mantra under a curse if it can save people!
