"You Are All Paddy"

"How Bhagawan projects, answers and makes us aware and brings synthesis, not contradictions.  Once I asked Bhagawan whether one who does not attend church could be a Christian.  One who attends a temple or not remains a Hindu.  Why?  He may not attend a temple, yet we call him Hindu.  It is unjustifiable.

Bhagawan gave an answer.  In every house, a Hindu is supposed to have a puja room (shrine) for silent sitting and introspection, self-effacement and self-realization - a sanctum sanctorum.  So every house will have the prayer room, whether he goes to the temple or not.  Yes!  This answer is unique.

One day in Kodaikanal, we were travelling with Bhagawan in the bus with students and teachers.  His car was in front of the bus with His driver only.  People came to know Swami was around and this caused a big traffic jam.  All the people did Namaskar to His car.  Bhagawan said, "See that is the result of association.  As I had been in the car, it also received Namaskaras from everyone.  Because of association with Me, it is also receiving worship.  Whereas now, because I am associating with you, I am also losing My Namaskaras.  Bad company, you are!"

As we drove along, He was peeping out of the window.  He said, "God seems to have no brains.  You see there you find paddy fields, so small and tender.  You also find eucalyptus trees so tall.  Those tall eucalyptus trees do not have water even for one day, whereas paddy has so much of water even though they are small.  God has no brains.  Big trees need water more.  A baby does not each much.  A man of forty needs much food."

Well, we were just listening, so Bhagawan Himself furnished the answer.  He said, "Paddy needs water everyday because their roots are superficial.  If the water is not supplied, the plant gets dried, and paddy will dry, whereas the eucalyptus trees have deep long roots.  They can draw water themselves.  Likewise those aspirants whose faith is not deep can do sadhana once in a while because they have unshaken faith, as their roots have gone deep."

Then He said, 'You are all paddy, you should do sadhana everyday.' "
