A Life is Saved

This was narrated by Ravi, one of the technical staff of Super Speciality Hospital at Prashanthi Gram.  He is also an alumnus of SSSIHL.

Ravi said that whenever Bhagawan visited the hospital, doctors took the opportunity to request Bhagawan to visit their departments in order to get His blessings for all the staff.  A festive atmosphere prevailed during Bhagawan's visits.  Ravi had the privilege of welcoming Bhagawan into the cardiac operation theatre complex many times.

Generally Bhagawan chose to visit the hospital after the Bhajan programme in the Mandir around 10 a.m.  One early morning, to the surprise of everyone, Bhagawan suddenly walked into the hospital unannounced.  He didn't make use of the golf cart this time and He was not accompanied by any guests.  Bhagawan came up the stairs and Ravi noticed Him only when He was approaching the cardiac surgery complex.  Ravi rushed to open the double glass doors.  Without saying anything, Bhagawan walked briskly towards the ICU and moved into the step-down ICU, where recovering patients were monitored and treated.  Bhagawan turned to His left at the entrance, looked tenderly at a woman patient lying on the bed, a little distance away and lovingly raised His hand in benediction.

Bhagawan's face was adorned by a compassionate look of ultimate caring and assurance.  He approached her and materialised vibhuti for her.  No words were spoken.  Love was the language that connected the longing soul and the Lord.  Bhagawan then left.  Needless to say, the woman was in tears that reflected complete relief and gratitude.  Ravi found that Bhagawan had no other objective for His visit on that day.  Amazing!

Everyone thinks that Bhagawan would visit the hospital only to see known devotee patients or to show guests around.  Bhagawan proved them wrong.  God is easily moved by the suffering of any being and will go to any extent to confer joy on them of His own Will.

This woman patient, Lakshmi, a villager, had a major heart problem and along with it, she was also well into her first pregnancy.  She required an emergency surgery to survive.  The surgery was done immediately but due to poor cardiac flow, the foetus could not be saved.  One can imagine the intense pain and mental suffering of this poor woman who lost her first child.  Bhagawan's hospital had definitely saved her life, who else but Bhagawan, the indweller in heart, could know of her agony?  This helpless soul in distress had drawn the Lord to the hospital that morning.  He came unannounced, blessed her silently and went away.  The wounds of both her body and soul were healed by the Lord's Love.
