Divine Darshan

On Saturday, November 15th, 1958 at 5.20 p.m., Baba, who was in conversation with a group of devotees at Prasanthi Nilayam, shouted "Ha!" and suddenly "passed out".  After ten minutes, He coughed thrice.  Each time, a considerable quantity of vibhuti shot out from His mouth.  At 5.35 p.m., Baba got up and continued the conversation from where He had let off.  The devotees were anxious to know what had happened.

"You all want to know that.  Well, you know the lady medical officer from Vellore who comes here often, Dr. Krishna?  Her mother closed her eyes in eternal sleep at Dehra Dun at 5.30 p.m. today.  The doctor was by her side.  Feeling her pulse, she said, "This will be her last breath."  Sai Bhajan was going on there.  I gave Darshan to the old lady.  She passed away peacefully", narrated Baba.

On the 18th instant, Baba received an inland letter.  Contrary to the usual practice, Baba asked Sri Kasturi to open the letter and to read out to the devotees.

The letter was from Dr. Krishna, giving all the details about her mother's death.  She wrote "My mother drew her last breath at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday.  We were singing Bhajans during her last hours, as per her wish.  She was remembering You constantly.  I guess she had Your Darshan."

The Loving God fulfilled the yearning of His devotee without even anybody knowing it.  There is no mediatory between God and the devotee.
