The Correct Diagnosis

Once a student who lived with the Lord in His quarters was ill and Swami called Dr Alreja and Dr. Narasappa, MD to treat him.  The student was suspected to have typhoid and was given chloromycetin capsules and injections.  This relieved the pain but there was no relief from the illness.  Swami asked the two doctors what was to be done.  The astute Alreja neatly avoided the trap set by Swami and said, "Swami, you take over.  We are utter fools."

Swami created vibhuti and applied it all over the patient and asked for a glass of vibhuti and applied it all over the patient and asked for a glass of apple juice, which He gave to the boy Himself.  Swami then asked Dr. Alreja to also drink a glass of apple juice.  The latter protested that he did not have typhoid, whereupon Swami said, "Never mind, you too need strength."  

Swami then asked Dr. Alreja to bring his emergency medical kit and sit with the boy the whole night as there would be a crisis between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.  As foretold by Swami, at 2.30 a.m., the boy began to sweat profusely and collapsed with low blood pressure and feeble pulse.  Dr. Alreja promptly gave him coramine injection.  By the time Swami came to check at 4 a.m., the boy was completely revived.

Two days later. Dr. Alreja was again called to see the same boy who now had stomach pain.  Antacids had not helped and Swami inquired whether rice with curd and sugar could be given to the boy. As if the Lord required to be told.  The boy was fed lovingly by the Lord and had a smile on his face at the end of the meal.

Dr. Alreja, in a lighter vein, said, "Swami, you have finally made the right diagnosis."  "What is it?" asked Swami.  Pat came the reply, "HUNGER".  The Lord threw His head back and laughed uproariously.  The doctor folded his hands and said, "When the Lord laughs, the universe laughs."
