Thippamma and Subba Rao Become Believers

Once Smt Yadalapu Nagamma, residing in Bukkapatnam, invited Sri Sathya Sai Baba to her house.  She also asked Smt Thippamma, the wife of Sri Subba Rao, the Karnam clerk, to come to her house and see Baba.

That evening as soon as Baba saw Thippamma, He remarked, "My child, your two sons have gone away somewhere without telling you.  You are very worried and apprehensive about their well being and safety.  There is no cause for fear.  They are alright."

On hearing these words, Thippamma's joy knew no bounds.  She immediately bowed down to Baba's feet and taking leave of him, went home and narrated all this to her husband, Subba Rao.  Her husband was sceptical and did not believe her.  He remarked, "If Baba is really God, then when He goes in procession, He should stop the jeep, enter our house, go into the Puja Room, and should eat the Prasad kept there.  Only then will I believe Him."

He really did not believe that Baba was God and deliberately kept impossible conditions to test Baba.  Thippamma prayed to Baba with full faith and the impossible came to past.  Swami stopped the jeep right in front of Subba RAo's house, went into the Puja Room and partook of the sweet Prasad kept there.  He then smilingly asked Subba Rao, "Are you satisfied now?"  Overwhelmed by surprise and awe, Subba Rao fainted.

The Baba materialized a bowl of vibhuti and smeared vibhuti on Subba Rao's brow.  When Subba Rao regained consciousness, Baba gave the bowl of vibhuti to him.  The smiling face of Baba got imprinted in his mind and he begged to be pardoned for his disbelief.  Baba left and continued with the procession.
