Modern Civilisation

Question: "Swami, we are passing through a new trend in modern society.  It is a very fast moving society.  We have made rapid strides in different fields and professions.  Will the effects of modern civilisation take us away from spirituality?  What are your views on modern civilisation, Swami?"

Baba: A true civilisation is the one wherein men will have a ceiling on desires.  Wherever men have control over their desires, that is a true civilisation.  A civilised man is one who has full control over his own mind and his desires.
