Once, Baba declared that He had been talking to devotees for more than 50 years and that was enough. Because devotees did not seem to have absorbed whatever He had said, there was no point in speaking further.
At another time, He said that by hearing more and more of His talks, people will start practising whatever He had to say.
We have to understand that Sai's utterances and teachings must be interpreted not to the letter but relevant to the occasion. That relevance is known to our being and it cannot be generalised. Hence, the relevance of Swami's teachings is left to one's own Being.
Swami says, "I taught you many things so far" with the result that we have come to know more than what we should know. We know more than what we are doing. We know more, yet we act less. Therefore, to know more, know no more! No! The beauty of it lies in the practice of what we know and in the resulting experience.
Therefore, Swami says, "Know a little and do more!"
(From the book "Sai-chology" by Prof. K. Anil Kumar)
