The Spirit of Peace looked over the world
And a tear trickled down from his eye
He looked North and South, East and then West,
Whilst giving a deep and mournful sigh.
Said he, "There's a sadness wherever I look
Hear the sound of our children crying
There's anger and greed, through man's selfish need
Whilst innocent victims are dying."
The Spirit of Peace felt the sadness around
All the hurts, pain and sorrow
He appeals to us all, to answer the call
"Prepare for a peaceful tomorrow".
Bloodshed and war have no place in those hearts
That are filled with Love for each other
"Forgive the past sadness, and live only gladness
And the world will be richer indeed".
