Once Dr. Upadhyay and Professor Eric Arnott, his teacher and mentor, had been called for interview by Swami in Puttaparthi. When they came out they passed a woman sitting in a wheelchair. Swami asked her why she had not come inside. She replied that Swami had closed the door and there was no one to lift her up to her wheelchair.
He asked, "Wheelchair? Why are you in a wheelchair?"
She replied, "Swami, I can't walk."
Swami exclaimed, "Who said you cannot walk?" Swami was standing outside the interview room with 10,000 people watching. He extended His lovely hand to the woman and said, "Hold My hand and get up." The woman stood up and Swami pushed her wheelchair away, "You can walk now" and she walked!
