God is Being

"We should understand and Bhagawan also says this: God is not becoming; God is being.  God is your being and God is not becoming.  If God is becoming, it is something which lies ahead - a futuristic view, something to happen in the future.  Some time is required to become God.

In pursuing our education or career, we need time to acquire the necessary qualifications.  Only after that do we "become" something.  And that implies the future.  But God is not "becoming".  God is our Being, according to Bhagawan.

Baba discontinued padanamaskar to drive home the point that God is Being and not becoming - that we are God.  Devotees who have done padanamaskar used to feel proud of it, as a sort of achievement and a means for publicity.  Thus when the real purpose was not served, padanamaskar was discontinued.  It means that we are purposely and forcefully driven to go within.  We had a facade of spirituality but had not gone within."
