Q20: What is true listening? (This was a question by a foreigner who did not know Telugu).
A: Think that two persons are quarrelling. They are exchanging abusive words in a language not known to the onlookers. They gesticulate with their hands and assume violent postures and shout loudly. In spite of language not being known, it is clear to the onlookers that the persons are quarrelling.
Yet another instance - Listening to high-flown Sanskrit passages, mantras and the "Omkara" generates a kind of titillating feeling. So true listening is that which produces vibrations, divine vibrations - in your mind.
