Rajmata's Birthday Gift

Bhagawan visited Rajmata (Maharani of Jamnagar) at "Devi Niwas" (the bungalow of Rajmata near Bhagawan's Ashram at Brindavan, Kadugodi) on her birthday on 26th September.  He sang "Happy Birthday to you, Rajmata!"  She also imitated His singing and prayed to Him to grant her a birthday gift that she would ask Him.  Bhagawan wanted to know what was the gift she wanted from Him.  Rajmata insisted that until and unless Bhagawan promised to grant her wish, she would not reveal what she wanted.

Finally, Bhagawan had to yield.  He said, "Alright, here is My promise to grant you whatever you want!  Now tell Me."  Rajmaa requested Bhagawan to grant her death as her birthday gift.  Bhagawan placed His hands on her head for five minutes.  None knew what transpired in those moments.  Later, Rajmata told her daughter that Bhagawan was God and He showed her in those five minutes all that she wanted to see!

Six days later, Rajmata shed her body at 4 o'clock in the morning, peacefully listening to the bhajans sung by her beloved Lord on a tape recorder.  A few hours before her last breath, she had told her daughter and grandson not to talk to her anymore and that she wanted to listen to only Bhagawan's voice!  Her Bhagawan came to "Devi Niwas" after sunrise, looking at the body of His dear devotee.  He said to Himself, "Who will do "jhagada" with Me henceforth?"  In Hindi language, "jhagada" means quarrel!  One unique aspect of the loving relation between Bhagawan and Rajmata was that He had permitted her the liberty of differing form Him on many issues.  He had allowed her to even argue with Him!  On that morning after she had merged in Him, He referred to such arguments as "jhagada".

No doubt, she was one and the only one of her kind among His countless devotees!
