TAR!

When Kasturi and Swami were driving back to Puttaparthi, we had T.A.Ramanatha Reddy, a road engineer, with us.  Swami had given him the nickname "TAR" for his main task was tarring the highways.

We halted for about an hour for breakfast at the Inspection Bungalow at Raichur town and moved on towards Hampi.  After about an hour of journey, Swami discovered that the engineer wore no glasses, though he had not himself become aware that they did not rest on his nose.  He confessed to Swami that he had placed them on the window sill, near the wash basin at the Inspection Bungalow and forgotten to put them on.  Baba said, "Don't worry.  You can send a telegram from Hampi to the collector of Raichur District.  He will retrieve them and send them by the next post."

While consoling him with these words, Swami waved His hand and lo! the pair of glasses was in His precious grasp.  "Are these yours?" He asked.  Ramantha Reddy was silent, his eyes answered, "Yes" with a gush of tears.

(As narrated by Prof. N. Kasturi in his book "Loving  God")
