A tale is told of the novitiate who one day went to his master. He said, "Master, I have been here for seven years and I feel that I have learned nothing. I was hoping to find my God, but where do I search from here? How can I point to the Buddha I seek?"
The master nodded and shrugged. "I cannot tell you where to point," he replied, "because the Buddha is in the finger with which you are pointing."
